JENNY COLLINSstarted API Select with Becky Clipp Cassilly in 2013, with the aim to deliver the best possible coaching staff, recruiting experience and player development in the game. She has a passion for the sport that is unmatched by her peers, and the intent to continue to drive the growth of the game by developing top talent. Her extensive network of friends and colleagues affords the club an unrivaled stable of coaching talent, as well as an extensive and influential recruiting network for players looking to compete at the collegiate level. She has coached all ability levels and in different settings over her career, and is excited for this new challenge to build API Select into a force to be reckoned with.
Jenny grew up in Lansdale, PA, where she started playing lacrosse in 8th grade. She was a two-sport athlete, playing lacrosse and field hockey at North Penn High School, learning her love from athletics from her father, Jerry Collins, who played professional football for the Buffalo Bills. She was coached by Jami Wilus, a LaSalle graduate and US Team player, who helped her develop into a two-time HS All-American. In high school she played for Ultimate Lacrosse Club Team, and was recruited to play at the University of Maryland.
During her freshman season as a Terp, Jenny tore her ACL, sidelining her for the remainder of the season but also allowing her a red-shirt year in 2010. While in College Park, she was able to contribute to the Terp squad on and off the field, earning multiple academic honors and being voted SAAC (Student Athletic Advisory Council) President in 2009 and 2010. In 2009 the Terps won the first of two ACC Championships, and in 2010 she capped off her career with a win in the NCAA Championship over Northwestern, 13-11. Her career at Maryland is one that has truly changed her life, as she has been able to learn from the most innovative and winningest coaches in the game today (Cathy Reese, Cindy Timchal, Jen Adams) and played alongside teammates who are the most talented in the country.
She graduated in 2009, with a Bachelor’s of Science in Kinesiology and started her Master’s Degree in 2010, during her red-shirt year. She went on to complete her Masters in Kinesiology in 2011, writing her thesis, “Beyond the Beauty Salon”, on the challenges faced by black female athletes in sport. She is also the Executive Director of Step Up Lacrosse Charity, a 501(c)(3) dedicated to growing and diversifying the game of lacrosse. She currently resides in Annapolis, MD and loves her job working in sales for Nike Lacrosse.

Becky grew up in Catonsville, MD, where she started playing lacrosse when she was 10 years old. In her younger years, her greatest influence in the game was her father, Gary Clipp, who was a 3-time All-American at UMBC and a World Champion in 1982 with Team USA. Becky set her goals high and started off on a stellar note, as a 3-sport athlete in high school, earning 12 Varsity letters between Lacrosse, Basketball and Cross Country. On the lacrosse field, she was the leading scorer for 3 seasons, and was Team Captain and Team MVP her senior season. Becky also captained and was MVP on the Basketball and Cross Country teams. During the summer, she played club lacrosse for Hero’s with an outstanding group of highly-recruited players. She was voted a high school All-American for lacrosse before attending the University of Maryland.
During her 4 year campaign in College Park she was voted a two-time All-American and two-time All-ACC defender. During her senior season, she lead the Terps as a Team Captain, as well as picking up IWLCA South Honors for her exceptional play. Off the field, Becky was a mulch-faceted student-athlete, participating on the Student Athlete Athletic Council (SAAC) as a team rep. In 2007 Becky graduated from Maryland with a Bachelor’s of Science degree in Kinesiology and went on to attend nursing school to earn her RN.
Becky coached the US Naval Academy under Cindy Timchal in their inaugural season, and then moved on to coach at Marriot’s Ridge for 3 seasons. Upon leaving Marriot’s Ridge, she returned to her alma mater to coach for 4 seasons and in that time span compiled 1 County Championship, 3 Regional Championships, 2 State Semi-Final appearances and a State Championship appearance in her final season.
In her life outside of lacrosse, Becky works full time as an emergency room nurse. She lives in Severna Park, MD with her husband Patrick and API Select’s biggest fan, their daughter Margie, who was born in March 2014.
